Thank you for joining me on this educational journey! Through this blog, I’ll be sharing progress in my studies and reflections on the counseling profession.

I spent a significant part of my professional life in the world of tax, accounting, auditing, tech, entrepreneurship, and insurance. Numbers, data analysis, research, writing, process improvement, selling, marketing, and systems were my everyday landscape. Yet, after years in these fields, I found myself seeking something more fulfilling, something that aligned with my deeper sense of purpose and desire to help people in a meaningful, lasting way. This longing grew over time, especially after personally witnessing the impact that professional support can have on individuals and families.

This desire led me to enroll in a Master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. I found that the skills I developed in my previous roles—critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail—translated beautifully to counseling. But there’s a key difference now: I’m working directly with people, listening to their stories, supporting them through challenges, and helping them find clarity and peace.

My shift into counseling is deeply personal as well. The loss of my mother to blood cancer taught me the profound importance of mental health support during times of grief and transition. As I work toward my licensure and begin to shape my vision of a private practice, I hope to create a space where clients feel understood, safe, and valued.

Here’s to new beginnings and the pursuit of peace. Classes start January 13th, 2025!

Best,
